The deal is reported to be worth up to €45 million, including performance‑related bonuses, and includes a contract running to 2030 with an optional extra year and wages of around €5 million per year.

United plan to use Ederson as a direct replacement for Casemiro as they rebuild the midfield under Michael Carrick. The club expects to announce the signing after Brazil’s 2026 World Cup campaign, after which Ederson will join pre‑season preparations in July.

The transfer marks United’s first major signing of the summer and signals the start of Carrick’s long‑term project.
