Manchester United target Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali in £70‑80 million bid

Manchester United are preparing a £70‑80 million offer for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, with new manager Michael Carrick and owners INEOS backing the move. The club has already secured Atalanta goalkeeper Ederson for £35 million and sees Tonali as a top priority for the summer.

Newcastle have extended Tonali’s contract to 2029, giving them strong negotiating leverage, and expect a fee close to £100 million, though the Red Devils are expected to start talks at the lower end of their range. Tonali’s agent has indicated the player would consider a move, and his lack of a World Cup in 2024 may accelerate negotiations.
