Manchester United targets Tyrick Mitchell to replace Luke Shaw

Manchester United is reportedly targeting Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell as a potential long-term replacement for Luke Shaw. With Shaw’s contract approaching its end and concerns regarding his injury history, the club is reportedly only willing to offer him a short-term extension, making a departure at the end of his current deal likely.

Mitchell, 27, has been identified as a primary candidate to bolster the squad under manager Michael Carrick. Reports suggest the Crystal Palace defender is “extremely keen” on a move to Old Trafford. Given that Mitchell’s current contract at Selhurst Park expires at the end of the season, Manchester United may have the opportunity to secure his services in the January transfer window or as a free agent next summer.

United is expected to assess the left-back position during the upcoming January window to secure a more durable option for the squad.
