Igor Matanović targeted by Manchester United and Premier League clubs

Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring SC Freiburg striker Igor Matanović following his strong start to the Bundesliga season. The 23-year-old Croatian international has recorded six goals and two assists in seven matches this season, contributing to a high level of interest from Premier League clubs.

Reports indicate that Matanović would “jump” at the opportunity to play in the Premier League and join Manchester United. However, a transfer during the upcoming January window appears unlikely. SC Freiburg is reportedly unwilling to sell their key attacker mid-season and has placed a valuation of approximately £50 million on the player.

Freiburg is not under immediate financial pressure to sell, and Matanović is under contract until the summer of 2027. While interest from English giants is growing, no official bids have been submitted, making a move more probable for the summer 2026 or 2027 transfer windows.
