Manchester United enquire about Fermin Lopez and Pablo Barrios

Manchester United has made initial enquiries regarding Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez and Atletico Madrid’s Pablo Barrios as part of a strategy to bolster their midfield. The club is reportedly looking for players with similar profiles to address ongoing issues in their central unit, potentially seeking successors for captain Bruno Fernandes.

While United has expressed interest, reports indicate that Barcelona considers Lopez “absolutely untouchable” due to his importance to their project and his recent contract extension through 2031. Similarly, Atletico Madrid is not expected to be in a rush to sell Barrios.

Other clubs, including Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, are also monitoring Lopez. Despite the interest, transfer experts suggest that Lopez is happy at Barcelona and no immediate move is planned.
