Manchester United targets midfield reinforcements as summer transfer window unfolds
Manchester United are actively pursuing several midfield and attacking options ahead of the 2026‑27 season. Primary targets include Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni and Bournemouth's Alex Scott, both listed among the club’s top priorities. The club has also opened talks with West Ham for winger Crysencio Summerville, with a reported £50 million fee.
United have agreed a £35 million deal to sign goalkeeper Ederson from Atalanta, pending the player's return from the World Cup. Additional scouting covers Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha, and Sander Berge of Fulham. The Reds missed out on Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, who moved to Tottenham.
No first‑team signings have been completed yet. Goalkeeper Andre Onana returned to Turkish side Trabzonspor on a season‑long loan. The club continues to assess its midfield options while monitoring the departure of forward Marcus Rashford for future squad planning.
