Manchester United targets midfield signings Felix Nmecha and Mateus Fernandes
Manchester United are actively pursuing two midfield options. German international Felix Nmecha, who scored for Germany against Curacao at the 2026 World Cup, has attracted interest after a strong tournament performance. His agent Tobi Alabi said, “Felix still has two years on his contract and we respect that. Borussia Dortmund plays a key role in his development,” and noted that United are among several clubs – including Manchester City and Real Madrid – monitoring him.
Portuguese midfielder Mateus Fernandes of West Ham is also on United’s shortlist. West Ham have set an £80 million valuation despite the club’s recent relegation, and the race is reportedly also being watched by Real Madrid, Paris Saint‑Germain and Tottenham Hotspur. Journalist Ben Jacobs reported, “Tottenham are looking at the market with various names,” but Fernandes has indicated a preference for a move to Old Trafford. United’s management believes a deal could be finalised as early as this month.
