Manchester United targets Sandro Tonali and Christos Tzolis in summer transfer push

Manchester United are preparing a major midfield overhaul for the summer window. The club, whose co‑owners INEOS are planning the next transfer campaign, have secured a deal for Michael Carrick to stay as permanent manager and are set to replace departing Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.

United are in "pole position" to sign Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali. Newcastle’s asking price, reported at around €100 million, is considered prohibitive for Italian clubs, but Manchester United are ready to meet it. Tonali, 26, has been likened to Andrea Pirlo and is viewed as a long‑term replacement for Casemiro.

The Red Devils are also courting Greek winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge. The 24‑year‑old, who has recorded 19 goals and 24 assists this season, is under contract until 2029, and Brugge hope to make him their record sale. Manchester United have already inquired about the player, competing with Aston Villa and Juventus for his signature.

Both targets reflect United’s intent to invest heavily after securing a top‑five Premier League finish, aiming to strengthen the midfield and add pace on the flanks.
