Manchester United to hold contract talks with Luke Shaw

Manchester United is planning to enter contract negotiations with veteran left-back Luke Shaw early next year. This decision comes as the defender approaches the final months of his current deal, with previous expectations suggesting he might depart upon its expiration.

Club officials and coaching staff have reportedly been impressed by Shaw’s fitness, leadership, and performance during the 2025-26 campaign. The move to explore a new deal aims to prevent the club from losing the experienced player without compensation, while also reflecting head coach Michael Carrick’s view of Shaw’s continued value to the squad.
