Manchester United targets defensive reinforcements amid transfer search

Manchester United is actively seeking defensive reinforcements to bolster their squad for the upcoming season, particularly following the departure of Tyrell Malacia and concerns regarding Luke Shaw’s injury history. The club has identified Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall as a primary target, but Newcastle has reportedly refused to sell the 21-year-old.

As a result, manager Michael Carrick and the club's leadership are exploring several alternatives. Potential targets include RB Leipzig’s David Raum, who has reportedly expressed interest in a move to Old Trafford, and Club Brugge’s Joaquin Seys. Other names being considered include Adrien Truffert from AFC Bournemouth and Jorge Salinas from Racing Santander.

In addition to defensive needs, there is ongoing discussion regarding the midfield and forward lines. Former defender Phil Bardsley has suggested that the club should prioritize a more defensively-minded midfielder and noted that Marcus Rashford must work to regain consistent form and the trust of supporters under the current regime.
