Manchester United urged to keep Marcus Rashford amid transfer warnings

Former Manchester United assistant Rene Meulensteen warned the club not to sell England forward Marcus Rashford to a Premier League rival, saying such a move could "come back to haunt the Red Devils" and repeat the perceived mistake of Scott McTominay’s departure. He told interim manager Michael Carrick that if United decide to part with Rashford, the sale should be to a club outside England to avoid strengthening a domestic competitor.

Rashford’s loan spell at Barcelona ended without a permanent contract, and no serious offer has yet materialised. Interest has been reported from Tottenham Hotspur, AS Roma and other European sides, while Meulensteen also mentioned possible moves to Saudi Arabia or Major League Soccer. He stressed that Rashford still has the quality to make a difference at the highest level and should remain a key consideration for United’s transfer strategy.
