Manchester United Women see international call-ups amid tactical shifts

Manchester United Women are experiencing a period of tactical transition and improved form. Under new leadership, the team is implementing a high-possession, attacking style focused on central overloads and playing out from the back. While this shift has faced practical challenges—evidenced by an average of 37% possession in the first three league games—the approach showed success in a recent 10-1 Players’ Cup victory.

On the international stage, Manchester United duo Maya Le Tissier and Jess Park have been called up to Sarina Wiegman’s England squad for upcoming 2027 World Cup playoff fixtures against Greece. Conversely, Ella Toone was omitted from the squad, reportedly due to recent performance levels.
