Manchester United Women suffer pre-season defeat as Jess Park earns WSL honors

Manchester United Women lost 2-1 to Liverpool in a behind-closed-doors pre-season fixture at Carrington. Liverpool secured their fourth consecutive pre-season victory following an early second-half own goal by Aurelie Csillag, which deflected past goalkeeper Janina Leitzig. Although Ella Toone equalized for United shortly after, Ceri Holland restored Liverpool's lead in the 61st minute to secure the win.

Separately, Manchester United midfielder Jess Park has been named to the 2026 PFA Women's Super League (WSL) Team of the Year. The England international follows a successful debut season with the club, during which she also received the club's Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year awards, recording six goals and five assists in league play.
