Premier League releases 2026‑27 fixture schedule

The English Premier League has published the full 2026‑27 season programme. The campaign starts on Friday 21 August 2026, with defending champions Arsenal hosting newly promoted Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium. Other opening weekend fixtures include Manchester United at Hull City, Manchester City versus Bournemouth, Liverpool travelling to Newcastle, and a London derby between Brentford and Tottenham.

The schedule runs to Sunday 30 May 2027, comprising 33 weekend rounds and five midweek rounds. Because the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States pushes the domestic calendar back, the season begins 34 days after the World Cup final and ends six days before the 2027 Champions League final. Nine clubs will feature in European competition, and the league has built in at least a 60‑hour break between matches during the Christmas‑New Year period.

New officiating guidelines will be introduced: referees will assess hair‑pulling incidents based on force and intent rather than an automatic red card, and a five‑second countdown will be used to curb goalkeeper time‑wasting. The fixture list was generated by Atos’s long‑standing scheduling system, which balances sporting fairness, policing capacity and player welfare.
