Tottenham blocks Pedro Porro sale while Manchester United probe Cristian Romero transfer
Reports that Manchester United were preparing a bid for Tottenham captain Cristian Romero have been denied by journalists. Both Steven Railston and Sam C said United have not made an approach, despite earlier speculation that the Argentine defender could move to a Spanish club such as Atlético Madrid or Barcelona. Tottenham have secured Romero with a contract extension that includes a €60 million release clause, and they face competition from several Spanish giants for his signature.
Separately, Tottenham have made clear that right‑back Pedro Porro is not for sale. The club set a £50 million valuation for the player, higher than the £40 million they paid Sporting CP last year, as Manchester City and Real Madrid have shown interest. Porro confirmed his commitment to the club and was named in Spain’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
