Mandalorian and Grogu return in new Star Wars comic

Despite the mixed reception and box-office performance of the film ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ (2026), which earned $345 million against a $165 million budget, the characters are continuing their adventures through other media.

Lucasfilm Publishing, in collaboration with Mad Cave Studios and Papercutz, has released a new one-shot comic titled ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu: Nightmare on Nevarro’. Written by Delilah S. Dawson and illustrated by Alessandro Ranaldi, the story is a Halloween-inspired mystery set on the planet Nevarro. The plot follows Din Djarin and Grogu as they investigate sinister, red-eyed creatures within the planet’s lava tubes.

The comic is set between the events of ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 and the 2026 film. While reports suggest that a fourth season of the Disney+ series has been scrapped, the duo remains active across the Star Wars franchise through gaming, LEGO specials, and publishing.
