Mandello del Lario celebrates San Lorenzo with traditional festivities

Mandello del Lario celebrated its patron saint, San Lorenzo, with a series of traditional religious and community events. The festivities included a solemn mass led by Monsignor Giuliano Zanotta, who emphasized the theme of service within the Church. Following the mass, a procession through the town streets led to a traditional blessing of Lake Como and the various boats on its waters.

The celebration also featured a local market, the San Lorenzo Fair in Piazza Garibaldi, and folkloric tours on traditional ‘Lucie’ boats. Despite recent concerns regarding a fire on the slopes of Monte Moregallo, Mayor Riccardo Fasoli and local authorities confirmed that the scheduled fireworks display on the lake could proceed safely after monitoring the situation with fire services and emergency volunteers.
