Mandiner weekly newspaper suspends print edition after seven years

Mandiner Novum Nonprofit Zrt announced that the Mandiner print weekly will cease publication, with the July 30, 2024 issue being the final edition. Subscribers will receive refunds for the unused portion of their paid subscriptions. The newspaper, launched in September 2019, covered Hungarian public affairs, the diaspora, culture, economy, sport and international events, publishing more than sixty pages each week.

The suspension was attributed to the continued contraction of the Hungarian print media market. The outlet is owned by the Mathias Corvinus Collegium, and the decision follows broader reductions in the country's media landscape after the 2022 elections. No further details were provided about future digital plans.
