Mandoul healthcare workers receive emergency obstetric training

The NGO Bureau d’Appui Santé Environnement (BASE) recently conducted a five-day training program in the Mandoul region of Chad focused on Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (SONUB).

Supported by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) through the Maternal and Child Health Improvement Program (PASFASS2), the initiative aimed to strengthen the skills of healthcare providers in managing obstetric and neonatal emergencies. The training, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, covered critical topics including the identification of danger signs, early recognition of complications, postpartum hemorrhage prevention, and the management of eclampsia and severe pre-eclampsia.

Additionally, sessions addressed infection management and newborn resuscitation to reduce maternal and infant mortality risks.
