Mandurah Police charge teenagers over black swan vape video

Mandurah Police in Western Australia charged two teenagers with animal cruelty after a video showed them forcing a black swan to inhale vape smoke. The footage, widely shared on social media, depicted the bird pinned to the floor while one teen held its beak and directed vapor into its nostrils.

The offenders are charged with “animal cruelty – causing an animal unnecessary harm” and will appear before the Mandurah Children’s Court later this month. Advocacy group Animals First Australia posted the video to identify the teens, described the act as “sickening”, and said it is seeking contact with the main offender’s parents and urging a donation to a wildlife rescue.
