Mandy Sue Schmittnägel develops Pop Art painting passion

Mandy Sue Schmittnägel, a self-taught artist from Pfungstadt, has transitioned a personal hobby into a dedicated passion for painting. Her creative journey began during her pregnancy with twins, providing a quiet activity during sleepless nights.

Schmittnägel has produced between 30 and 40 canvas works, primarily using acrylic paints alongside spray paints, glitter, pearl effects, and gold leaf. Her style is characterized by Pop Art influences merged with modern neon elements, often featuring recognizable characters such as those from Sesame Street, the Muppets, and Mickey Mouse in unexpected or humorous scenarios.

After years of keeping her work within her family and social circles, she has begun exhibiting publicly through the Darmstadt artist community, ‘KiB – Künstler in Bewegung’.
