Mandya: 15-year-old boy found dead in lake amid murder allegations

A 15-year-old boy named Deepak was found dead in a village lake in Mayappanahalli, Mandya district, Karnataka, on Monday evening. His body showed visible injury marks.

The boy's family alleges he was murdered by a minor friend. According to family members, Deepak went to play with the friend on Monday but failed to return home. While the friend claimed to have no knowledge of Deepak's whereabouts, the boy's grandmother stated she saw both children heading toward the lake.

Members of the Vishwakarma community staged a protest in front of the MIMS mortuary, demanding justice, the arrest of the suspect, and compensation. A case has been registered at the Keragodu Police Station. Deputy Superintendent of Police Lakshminarayana has visited the site and assured the family that a proper investigation will be conducted.
