Manfredonia, Udine and Trieste unveil new public sports and community spaces
The municipality of Manfredonia inaugurated a new multifunctional sports field on 1 July, financed with €100,000 of regional funding. The free, illuminated venue supports five‑a‑side football, volleyball, street‑basket and includes surrounding green areas.
In Trieste, a privately donated 100‑square‑metre basketball court was opened in the historic Villa Cosulich garden. The court features a green rubber surface, drainage, a surrounding safety wall and a ping‑pong table, and is intended primarily for local youths.
In Udine, the Arte e Libro cooperative expanded its headquarters with backing from Fondazione Friuli. The project added larger workshops, a digital‑documentisation lab, a new auditorium and a “Palestra di Vita” programme to foster personal and social skills, improving work, training and inclusion opportunities for the community.
