Mangaratiba highway accident leaves one dead and one injured

A fatal traffic accident occurred on the Rio-Santos highway (BR-101) in Mangaratiba during the early hours of Saturday. The collision involved a passenger car and a motorcycle near the Sahy region.

One victim, identified as 44-year-old Anderson da Silva, died at the scene. A second man, aged 36, was found alive but in serious condition; he was transported to the Mangaratiba Municipal Hospital. Witnesses reported that the car caught fire following the impact, and local residents noted rainy conditions in the area at the time.

Emergency response teams included the Fire Department, the Federal Highway Police (PRF), and the Motiva RioSP concessionaire. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the crash, including whether both men were on the motorcycle and the cause of the vehicle fire.
