Mangla Gauri Vrat 2026 Begins on Aug 4 with Three Rare Auspicious Yogas

The first Mangla Gauri Vrat of the Hindu month of Sawan in 2026 is observed on Tuesday, 4 August. The fast, dedicated to Goddess Parvati in her Mangla Gauri form, marks the start of Sawan and is considered especially powerful because three rare yogas—Saararth Siddhi, Amrit Siddhi and Ravi Yoga—coincide on this day.

Married (suhagin) women undertake the fast to seek marital harmony, long life for their husbands and blessings for offspring. Traditional observances include bathing at sunrise, dressing in auspicious colours, offering sweets, fruits and a special puja kit, and adhering to strict dietary rules until the evening offering. Recommended prayer times are Brahma muhurta from 04:20 am to 05:02 am, with additional auspicious windows throughout the day.

The event is celebrated across India, reflecting the cultural importance of the Mangla Gauri Vrat within the broader Sawan festivities.
