Mangualde begins construction of new wastewater plant in Cunha Baixa

The Mangualde City Council has begun construction on a new wastewater treatment plant (ETAR) in Cunha Baixa. The project involves an investment of approximately 160,000 euros and is designed to serve roughly 300 inhabitants.

The new infrastructure aims to replace the existing septic tank system, which the municipality stated no longer meets the necessary conditions for treating effluents before they are discharged into the water environment. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year and is intended to enhance environmental protection and safeguard water resources by reducing the risk of soil and groundwater contamination.
