Mangueira samba school announces musas Nikolly Fernandes (2026) and Gi Fernandes (2027)

Brazil's Estação Primeira de Mangueira announced 20‑year‑old Nikolly Fernandes as its new musa for the 2026 carnival. The school highlighted her lifelong involvement, noting she joined the Mangueira do Amanhã program in 2018 and has been part of the traditional passista wing since 2023. The 2026 parade theme "Oyá Por Nós" will honor the Candomblé deity Oiá.

The school later revealed Gi Fernandes as the musa for the 2027 carnival. Gi began her Mangueira journey as a child, making her first child‑category parade in 2014 and later becoming the youngest passista in the senior wing. She has also built a television acting career, and the school’s president Guanayra Firmino praised her as a representation of a new generation sustaining the samba tradition.
