Global mining firms announce major project developments and contracts

Several mining companies have announced significant operational developments across Australia, the United States, and Peru.

In Western Australia, Forrestania Resources has awarded a two-year, $145 million mining contract to MEGA Resources for its Johnson Range gold project. The contract includes open-pit services such as drilling, blasting, and haulage. Additionally, Forrestania is progressing with refurbishments at its Lake Johnston processing hub and has engaged Marlee Resources for civil works.

Viking Mines has received approval from the US Bureau of Land Management to collect a 907-tonne bulk sample from its Linka tungsten project in Nevada. The company intends to process this sample to produce high-grade concentrate for US-based refineries.

In Peru, Rio2 Limited has secured regulatory approval to expand its Condestable underground copper mine. The approval allows for an increase in daily throughput capacity to 10,000 tonnes and authorizes a new dry-stack tailings facility, potentially extending the mine's life by a decade.

In Queensland, Moonlight Resources reported positive drilling results at the Peak Downs prospect within its Clermont project. The reverse circulation program identified copper and cobalt mineralization, with some intercepts grading up to 6.26 per cent copper.
