Colombia: Man arrested after bodies of wife and daughter found in vehicle

Authorities in Cundinamarca, Colombia, have arrested a 44-year-old man, identified as Dionnys Fonseca, following the discovery of two deceased women inside a vehicle on the Bogotá-Villavicencio highway (Vía al Llano).

The victims, identified as the suspect's wife and minor daughter, were found near kilometer 17+300 after highway concessionaires reported suspicious driving behavior. Cundinamarca Governor Jorge Rey confirmed the discovery of the bodies during a police inspection.

Preliminary investigations suggest the homicides may have occurred on September 7 in the Usme district of Bogotá. Following the alleged crimes, the suspect reportedly traveled toward La Dorada, Caldas, before returning to the Vía al Llano. The Fiscalía Seccional de Cundinamarca is leading the investigation to determine the motive and establish full legal responsibility.
