Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, has provided financial and material relief to families affected by a fire in the Afia Kobi Electoral Area. The fire, which impacted a multi-storey building near Manhyia Palace, devastated approximately eight households.

The MP announced a total of GH¢20,000 in financial assistance for the most severely affected victims. Additionally, GH¢2,000 has been allocated for electrical rewiring, and roofing sheets will be provided to assist the landlord with rebuilding efforts. Relief items, including bags of rice, tin tomatoes, and vegetable oil, were also distributed to the residents.

While the official cause of the fire remains under investigation, eyewitness accounts suggested it may have been triggered by a child using a gas cooker. In response to the incident, the MP expressed intentions to collaborate with the Ghana National Fire Service to launch fire prevention and safety education initiatives within the constituency.
