Mani Ratnam launches Kolkata shoot of new film starring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi

Renowned Indian director Mani Ratnam has begun filming his next untitled romantic drama in Kolkata. The opening schedule features key scenes shot on the iconic Howrah Bridge with lead actors Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi, marking the pair's reunion after "Chekka Chivantha Vaanam" and Pallavi's first collaboration with Ratnam.

The project is co‑produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, with Oscar‑winning composer A. R. Rahman providing the soundtrack. After completing approximately 40 days of shooting in Kolkata, the crew plans to move to Puducherry for the next phase of production.
