Mani Ratnam to announce title for new film starring Vijay Sethupathi

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam is set to reveal the title of his upcoming Tamil film on September 7. The project features Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi in lead roles, marking the latter’s first collaboration with the director.

A teaser released by the makers includes the lines, “Life is rarely black & white” and “Between light and shadow, life finds its colours,” suggesting a visually rich story. While specific plot details remain undisclosed, the film is expected to be a romantic drama. Portions of the movie have already been filmed in locations such as Kolkata, including scenes on the Howrah Bridge.

The production involves a high-profile technical team, including music composer A. R. Rahman, cinematographer PC Sreeram (or Avik Mukhopadhyay), and editor Sreekar Prasad. The film is being presented by Lyca Productions and produced by Madras Talkies.
