Manic Street Preachers announce ‘The Holy Bible Live’ album and reissue

Manic Street Preachers are releasing ‘The Holy Bible Live’, a collection documenting their 2014 tour performing their 1994 album in its entirety. To coincide with the release, a reworked live video for ‘Mausoleum’ from the concert film ‘Be Pure - Be Vigilant - Behave’ has been made public.

The live album, scheduled for release on October 23, will be available in various formats, including double vinyl, CD, Blu-ray, and a deluxe edition featuring a new mix of the original album by Steven Wilson. Vocalist James Dean Bradfield noted the tour was a way to prove the band’s continued strength and ability to handle the difficult material, despite him performing while suffering from severe influenza.

Bassist Nicky Wire reflected on the time required to revisit the album’s intense themes. In a related discussion via Hot Press Classics, contributors explored the album’s dark themes of nihilism and provocation, as well as the legacy of the band’s creative genius, Richey Edwards.
