Manickam Tagore addresses TN political alliances and corruption

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee leader Manickam Tagore has addressed political tensions and corruption allegations within the state. Following a meeting with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leadership, efforts have been made to stabilize the alliance between the Congress and TVK. Tensions arose after statements by MLA Kanimozhi Santosham suggested a future political hierarchy involving Vijay and Rahul Gandhi, causing friction regarding the alliance's long-term goals.

In a separate statement in Virudhunagar, Tagore called for government action against corruption in the Public Works and Highways departments. He cited reports alleging that approximately Rs. 60,000 crore in commissions are paid annually for project works. Tagore emphasized that the Congress supports Vijay's administration in its efforts to establish honest governance and stabilize the state's economy, while urging leaders to focus on critical issues like the water crisis and declining agricultural land in Virudhunagar rather than political speculation.
