Manila International Book Fair draws crowds to SMX Convention Center

The Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) is currently being held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. As the largest and longest-running literary gathering in the Philippines, the event features over one hundred publishers, including major entities like National Book Store, Fully Booked, and various university presses.

This year’s fair, themed ‘Get Lit: Reading in a New Light,’ highlights a blend of traditional literature and contemporary pop culture, drawing significant crowds interested in graphic novels, manga, and indie komiks. Scheduled activities include the launch of ‘How I Became a Writer 2,’ edited by Cecilia Manguerra Brainard, at the Vibal Publishing booth on September 12.
