The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) announced "MeghMalhar," a national photography contest celebrating India's monsoon. Open to photographers, storytellers and students across the country, the contest offers cash prizes up to ₹25,000 and will showcase selected works at a photography exhibition on 17 September 2026 in Manipal.

MAHE will also host the Nature Conference on Meeting the Challenge of Infectious Diseases in a Changing World from 14‑16 October 2026 in Manipal, Karnataka. Organized with Nature Medicine, Nature Microbiology, Nature Health and Nature Communications, the three‑day event will bring together international experts to discuss emerging pathogens, antimicrobial resistance, pandemic preparedness and one‑health approaches. Senior Editor Sonja Schmid of Nature Communications highlighted the conference's role in shaping future infectious‑disease strategies.
