Manipal Hospital hosts survivor meet to celebrate life after cancer

Manipal Hospital held ‘The Courage Walk Onco-Gynae Survivor Meet 2026’, an event designed to honor cancer survivors and celebrate life following treatment. The gathering brought together survivors, medical professionals, and healthcare workers to share experiences regarding diagnosis, recovery, and the importance of emotional support networks.

The event featured a fashion show where survivors participated to celebrate joy and self-expression. Notable guests included former Doordarshan anchor and artist Chaitali Dasgupta, as well as dancer Tanusree Shankar. Medical leadership from Manipal Hospitals, including Cluster Director Komal Dashora and various oncology specialists, also attended.

Individual accounts of the cancer journey highlight the necessity of early diagnosis and holistic recovery. For some, such as Carolien, a mother of three, surviving cancer involved not only medical treatment but also a profound psychological restructuring of daily life and work-life balance to manage the stress of recurrence and long-term recovery.
