Manipur Chief Minister flags off 16 youths for skill training and jobs in Japan
Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has flagged off 16 youths to undergo overseas skill training and employment in Japan. The program is part of the State Livelihood Empowerment and Entrepreneurship (SLEE) initiative.
The candidates, who have completed Japanese language training through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) International Academy, have secured positions in the healthcare and hospitality sectors across various Japanese locations, including Tokyo and Okinawa.
To facilitate the program, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the State Bank of India (SBI) and SLEE to provide financial support to the candidates. During the send-off, the Chief Minister encouraged the participants to maintain their cultural identity and remain connected to their Manipuri roots while working abroad.
