Manipur CM calls for unity among diverse communities
Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has called for a shared sense of identity among the state's diverse communities to foster unity and strengthen social cohesion. Speaking at a 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' event in Imphal West, Singh emphasized the historical collective resistance shown by various groups, such as the Naga community during the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891 and the role of the Kuki-Zo community in the state's early legislative history.
The Chief Minister stated that his responsibility, entrusted by central leaders, is to restore normalcy and peace to the state. He urged residents to work together toward this goal and to utilize various government schemes and departmental opportunities to support regional development.
