Manipur Deputy CM Losii Dikho boycotts Cabinet meeting
Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho has boycotted a recent Cabinet meeting, citing a “denial of justice” for the Naga community amidst ongoing ethnic conflict in the state. Dikho, the sole Naga minister in the Cabinet, stated his decision aligns with the collective wishes of the Naga Legislators’ Forum.
Dikho leveled serious allegations against fellow Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, who belongs to the Thadou tribe of the Kuki-Zo community. He accused Kipgen of breaching her oath of office and secrecy by allegedly colluding with her husband, Thangboi ‘Tiger’ Kipgen, the leader of the KNF (P) militant group. Dikho claimed that Kipgen has shared state secrets and that her husband is responsible for the killing and mutilation of six Naga citizens.
The boycott follows a recent move by nine Naga legislators to appeal to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for immediate action against Kuki-Zo militant leaders. Dikho emphasized that his abstention is not a lack of commitment to his duties but a response to the continued violence faced by the Naga people.
