Manipur security forces arrest multiple members of banned insurgent groups
Security forces in Manipur have conducted several operations resulting in the arrest of multiple individuals linked to banned insurgent organizations.
In separate operations across Tengnoupal, East Imphal, and Bishnupur districts, authorities apprehended members of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and the People's Liberation Army (PLA). One PLA member was reportedly involved in recruitment activities. Additionally, a member of the Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (KYKL) was detained in Bishnupur.
Further arrests were made in the valley districts. Security forces, acting on intelligence from the Assam Rifles and Garhwal Rifles, apprehended a member of the National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) in East Imphal and a member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) in West Imphal. Another individual linked to the KYKL and a member of the KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) were also taken into custody.
Authorities are currently interrogating the detainees to gather information regarding recruitment networks, organizational activities, and potential contacts.
