Manipur security forces neutralize IEDs and investigate grenade attack

Security forces in Manipur have recovered and neutralized three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) weighing approximately 20 kg in the Jiribam district. The operation, conducted by Spear Corps in coordination with the Manipur Police, took place in a jungle area between Leishabithol and Ahamadabad. The devices were destroyed via controlled demolition to prevent threats to life and property.

In a separate incident, a grenade was thrown at the residence of Congress Legislature Party leader and state Congress President Keisham Meghachandra Singh in the Thoubal district on Thursday evening. No injuries were reported. The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) condemned the blast, characterizing it as an attack on democratic norms and the political process.

Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh has directed police to conduct a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice. While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack on the MLA's residence, local groups have staged protests against the violence.
