Manipur violence: Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge criticizes BJP government

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has strongly condemned the BJP government following recent violence in Manipur, which resulted in the killing of four civilians. Kharge stated that the state continues to suffer due to government negligence, noting that since May 2023, more than 300 lives have been lost and over 24,000 people remain in relief camps under poor conditions.

Kharge criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, questioning the effectiveness of the peace committee formed in June 2023 and the implementation of recommendations from the Justice Gita Mittal Committee appointed by the Supreme Court. He further questioned why thousands remain displaced despite the Supreme Court identifying 31 unnatural deaths within relief camps.
