Manisa AI Thermal Cameras Detect Land Fire Early, Trigger Immediate Response
The Manisa Metropolitan Municipality has deployed an AI‑supported thermal camera system across 17 districts, placing 50 strategic, 360°‑rotating cameras that operate 24 hours a day. The network identified a land fire in the Gölmarmara district at its inception, recording temperatures exceeding 158 °C. The system generated an automatic alarm that was instantly forwarded to the municipal fire department, while simultaneous optical camera footage confirmed the fire location, allowing crews to be directed swiftly.
The technology, overseen by Mayor Besim Dutlulu, aims to protect forests, agricultural lands, and settlements by providing rapid alerts for even minor smoke or temperature changes, enhancing early‑intervention capabilities throughout Manisa.
