Manisa cattle breeder recovers six missing cattle after five months

In the Yunusemre district of Manisa, a local cattle breeder named Arif Gerçek has successfully recovered six head of native breed cattle after they went missing five months ago.

After the animals escaped on April 5, Gerçek spent months searching for them in the mountains. Initial attempts to capture the cattle using sedative injections provided by veterinarians were unsuccessful, as the animals escaped once the effects of the medication wore off.

Following advice from village elders, Gerçek implemented a new strategy by feeding the cattle alfalfa to build trust and habituate them to his presence. After two months of this method, he was able to capture all six animals individually using a lasso.
