Manisa Celal Bayar University secures European grants for two projects

Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBÜ) has secured grant support from the European Solidarity Corps (ESC30) for two distinct projects. Out of 532 proposals evaluated, these two initiatives were among the 39 selected by the Turkish National Agency.

The first project, the Fire Warning System Project (YİSİS), aims to develop a low-cost, community-based digital early warning and notification system to protect forested and residential areas in and around Manisa. The project focuses on increasing environmental resilience and enhancing the digital skills of youth in rural areas, with a planned completion date of February 27, 2027.

The second project focuses on cultural heritage, utilizing virtual reality technology to revitalize the Aigai Ancient City. Both projects were developed under the consultancy of Associate Professor Barış Çukurbaşı and involve students from various academic disciplines, including Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Sociology, and Archaeology.
