Manisa Metropolitan Municipality begins road paving in Selendi
Manisa Metropolitan Municipality has launched a road improvement project in the Gölbaşı Neighborhood of the Selendi district. The project involves paving 8,000 square meters of roads with cobblestones to enhance transportation safety and comfort.
This initiative marks the first time cobblestone paving has been implemented in the history of Gölbaşı. Local officials noted that the area previously faced significant accessibility challenges, particularly during winter months when rain and mud hindered movement. These conditions reportedly made it difficult for essential services, such as ambulances and milk collection vehicles, to reach the neighborhood.
Durmuş Özdemir, the Selendi District Coordinator for the municipality, stated that the works will cover the entire neighborhood and its streets. Local residents and the neighborhood headman, Bayram Yörük, expressed satisfaction with the project, noting that the infrastructure improvements address a long-standing community need.
