Turkey agricultural sector sees widespread regional support and harvest activities

Various regions across Turkey are implementing diverse agricultural support programs and commencing seasonal harvests. In Manisa, the Metropolitan Municipality has launched a major support package, providing 144 modern agricultural machines to 16 districts and distributing over 603,000 kilograms of certified seeds to 2,158 producers. Additionally, the municipality has provided water tankers to combat forest fires in several neighborhoods.

In Akçaabat, the local municipality distributed 65,000 lettuce seedlings to greenhouse producers, bringing the total number of seedlings delivered to 165,000 this season. In Adana's Kozan district, 27 women received dough kneading and hoeing machines as part of a climate-resilient forestry project to reduce rural workloads.

In Muş, the Bulanık district distributed 30 tons of red lentil seeds to 50 producers, while a separate program in the province delivered 150 tons of legume seeds to 250 producers to diversify crop patterns. Meanwhile, in Giresun, 25 breeding buffalo bulls were distributed to enhance meat and milk yields.

Harvesting activities are also underway, notably the chestnut harvest in Manisa's Demirci district, where producers aim for 1,100 tons of yield. In Edirne, the harvest of Deveci pears has begun in Uzunköprü.
