Manisa Metropolitan Municipality upgrades water infrastructure in Soma

The Manisa Metropolitan Municipality has completed a major water infrastructure project in the Avdan neighborhood of the Soma district. The project involved replacing a 30-year-old iron water line that had reached the end of its economic life, causing issues such as mold, narrowing, and blockages.

Through the MASKI General Directorate, approximately 700 meters of modern HDPE pipes were installed. This upgrade has significantly improved water delivery efficiency, reducing the time it takes for water to travel from the reservoir to the neighborhood from 40 minutes to just 3 minutes. The new system is designed to provide cleaner, continuous drinking water while reducing the risk of future technical failures.
