Manisa Municipality Cleans Karacaahmet Tomb in Yunusemre District

Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyesi carried out comprehensive cleaning and environmental‑arrangement work at the Karacaahmet Tomb in the Yunusemre district of Manisa on 5 July 2026. Under the coordination of the municipality’s Cemetery Department, crews removed invasive weeds, performed detailed cleaning of the tomb and surrounding area, and tidied the site to improve conditions for visitors.

Mezarlıklar Dairesi Başkanı Yaşar Selcan said, “Sadece defin ve mezarlık hizmetleri değil, kentimizi teşkil eden manevi ve kültürel mirasın önemli bir parçası olan türbelerin, şehitliklerin ve ibadethanelerin korunması ve temizliği ile de yakından ilgileniyoruz.” Residents who visited afterward expressed gratitude for the cleaner, more orderly environment. The municipality indicated that similar maintenance activities will continue across Manisa’s historic and spiritual sites.
